In year of 2025 new kind of technology has been invented called "Insitus Gear" ("Insitus" in latin means "virtual"). With its help people can enjoy virtual reality games on whole new level. Insitus Gear blocks all nerve impulses in ones body and creates new ones in person's brain. Like this people can feel the wind, taste the food, smell the flowers, hear the birds and see a whole new world without even moving out their home.
First it was released in Japan on May 15th. Just over one night in Japan alone million copies of Insitus Gear and Antiva Chronus Online was sold. On May 25th it was released in Europe, in June 4th in USA and around July 12th whole world was playing game called Antiva Chronus Online which is first Virtual Reality Mass Multiplayer Game (VRMMO). It has more then one billion players and more then half a million servers and ACO has become one of the most played games in history.
For a while all was good, but then a new problem appeared onto scene. People liked game so much that they forgot to eat, sleep or go to work. No matter what government did, people wouldn't stop playing ACO. That's why scientists came up with a solution. Give people chance to live in a virtual world. For many years all scientists of the world worked and searched for a way to do so, until finally in 2031 they found it. They managed to improve Insitus Gear to that point where it could create its own time in person’s brain. If player stays in game for a week, then in real life only few hours would have passed. With this people could enjoy the game and also manage to do all the fun things in real life.
Quickly people replaced old gear with new one and enjoyed game to its fullest. However even though time in game seems to have increased, some players still kept missing their work and school. Until one day all players were forcefully logged out except for those who hadn't logged out for 3 weeks (1 day in real life). All servers in ACO were united and all players sent back to the main square in Novus Town. More then 100,000 players were gathered in this square and all of them were back to level 1. Shortly afterwards they received message from Game Master who is also the creator of Insitus Gear and Antiva Chronus Online:
"Dear player,
For a long time I have been watching over this game and enjoying the sight of people laughing and being happy in the world I have created. But then I noticed that some of you completely forgot about the real world. You turned your back on your families, friends and beloved ones. You used this game to escape from problems of real world and now it's time to teach you that ACO is not an escape.
I've returned all players to the starting point where you have no inventory, no money or skills. You have to start this game anew but this time it will be game of survival. In order to survive you have to work, eat proper food, watch out from illnesses which I have now added into game. It's just like real life except that you still have to fight monsters. None of you will be able to log out until at least one of you has beaten final boss. Just so you know there are total of 1000 bosses, one stronger then the other. Also please do not forget if you die in battle, starve too long, have been sick with strong disease you will die for real. I wish all players good luck!

What is going to happen in the world of Antiva Chronus Online?
Antiva Chronus Online consists of 4 main worlds: Terra, Inferna, Subaqua and Caelum. All players start their adventure in capital of Terra – Novus City. In order to get to other world player must complete certain quest and find the passageway to that world.
The main world of Antive Chronus Online. It is filled with different sceneries both deadly and beautiful and has the biggest variety of monsters in it. With Calm West Sea and Stormy Sea surrounding mainland, it gives a feeling of actual planet Earth. Monsters here also very much represent real animals and Terra is the only world where player can take form according to surroundings (after completing necessary quests).
The underworld which is often called as hell. It’s filled with volcanoes and lava rivers. Heat here never goes below 50 degrees Celsius. When players enter this world their skin and hair becomes much thicker, gains bit reddish tone. Simply put, they represent demon looking creatures. There are only two lakes that provide potable water. Most of players are usually found exactly in that region.
The underwater world is the most dangerous world of all. Despite its peaceful looks, any place outside the cities can turn into death trap as waters are always swarming with dangerous sea creatures. When player enters Subaqua his legs turn into fish tail, he gains gills and skin becomes pale with bit of greenish tone.
The sky world often called heaven of Antiva Chronus. It is filled with flower fields and beautiful and peaceful creatures. It is safest place in Antiva Chronus, if player manages to learn how to fly. Since Caelum consists of many floating islands, player won’t be able to get anywhere without flight. That is the reason why only few manage to reach it.
